February 7, 2018: We began Chapter 10 in our books tonight, learning more about the importance of sacraments. We also had our PCYI class that helped our children to learn things that will help keep them safe. We also received our Piggy Banks to help support a child in Haiti.
January 31, 2018: We talked about Eucharist and the order of the Mass.
January 24, 2018: We covered the seasonal chapter about Lent in our books. We also learned about the Liturgy of the Word!
January 17, 2018: We read all about the Mass and the Eucharist in preparation for First Communion.
December 13, 2017: We read the story of the birth of Jesus. We also recorded "Silent Night" for you! Merry Christmas from the Second Grade!
December 6, 2017: We learned the song "Silent Night," practiced the Act of Contrition, and Learned about Advent!
November 29, 2017: Fark Park visited us tonight and he taught the children about confession.
November 15, 2017: We read the story of the lost sheep, we did a sticker activity, and we talked about Jesus finding us when we are lost.
November 8, 2017: We learned about Matthew the Tax Collector and we talked about asking for forgiveness when we do something wrong.
October 25, 2017: We began our lesson on first reconciliation and talked about what it was. Nick Chalmers, the choir director from Annunciation, came by to invite the children to join the youth choir.
October 11, 2017: Tonight we began our preparation for 1st reconciliation and we discussed what sin was and Sr. Sue came by and was gracious enough to talk to the children. That was very nice.We will forge ahead to continue to prepare these little ones for the sacrament of reconciliation the next time we meet.
October 4, 2017: We spent a lot of time learning about the 10 Commandments today. We played a 10 Commandments board game!
September 27, 2017:We did introductions and the children told us about themselves and their families. We also talked about being a child of God and what it is like to be loved by God. We briefly discussed the sacrament of Holy Communion. We also went through the lesson in our book. I look forward to the rest of the year and walking with these children as they learn about the mystery and the miracle of the Holy Eucharist, Reconciliation and just the basics of the Catholic Faith.
