March 27th, 2019: Tonight we learned about the Rosary, I gave the boys a hand out, ask to see it and pray some of the prayers. We did Chapter 6, the last in the book.
March 13th, 2019: We talked about the true presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. We finished Chapter 4 and started on Chapter 5. Next week we will be going to Confession, please go over the Ten Commandments.
February 27th, 2019: Tonight we touched on some very important parts of the Mass. We also discussed the importance of the Eucharist and the mystery of how the bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Jesus.
February 6th, 2019: Tonight we covered Chapter 3. We studied the basic building blocks of the Mass, or the four main parts. One section of the chapter we talked about reading the Bible, how important that is, and how powerful it is in our lives.
January 23rd, 2019: Mass is the Ultimate Prayer. We talked about God talking to us, and how we listen and hear God. We also talked about the 3rd Commandment and our call to go to Church on Sundays.
January 16th, 2019: We studied Chapter 1 tonight in our new First Communion book. We talked about the sacraments, saints, and Sundays. If your household does not have a children's Bible, please consider getting one so your children can begin reading the Bible.
December 12th, 2018: Tonight we finished Chapter 6, and reviewed the steps for going to confession. We answered a lot of questions about going to confession.
December 5th, 2018: We reviewed Chapter 5, and worked through the first half of Chapter 6. We learned about trying to be silent and praying, and how important talking to God everyday is.
November 28th, 2018: Father Ellis visited us and we talked about going to confession. We then started chapter 5, and almost finished it. In chapter 5, they taught us 5 steps of preparing and going to confession, go over and talk about these steps with your boys.
November 14th, 2018: This week we studied Chapter 4 and finished it. We talked about being forgiven and forgiving other people. Please ask your boys if any sin cannot be forgiven-discuss this as a family. Have a good Thanksgiving!
November 7th, 2018: Tonight we did Chapter 3, please finish the review questions we did not complete. We tried doing the chapter without the video tonight, so let the children watch at home this week.
October 24th, 2018: We talked a little about All Hallowed Eve, and the next day, All Saints' Day. We also finished Chapter 2, it has a lot of information regarding temptation, sin, and grace. P.S. NO ONE HANDED IN THE 10 COMMANDMENTS HOMEWORK- PLEASE BRING IT NEXT CLASS.
October 10th, 2018: Tonight we started Chapter 2 and we got about half way through. The next week we have class we will finish chapter 2. We learned about free will, the Ten Commandments, and the Greatest Commandments. Ask your child about them. I also gave them a homework project- copy the Ten Commandments down on paper. Please let your child do this themselves.
October 3rd, 2018: This week we started talking about the seven sacraments. We also discussed gratitude and all the blessings of life.
